You guys all really made my day in discussing -- at great length -- the orientation of the hood pins. Personally, I think was pretty much up to whoever mounted stuff at the factory how things turned out. For example, my '70 had Pentastar insignia on BOTH fenders, yet it's "supposed" to be on just the right one. In a lot of ways, the original cars were just slapped together, and not everything is exactly the same on every car.

yeah the shop has been behind and has had to put me off a few times, but they are worth the wait, just counting down the days, paint, pins and my GTS blackout kit is on it's way, now I'm debating on some Carbon fiber items??? But putting together a BT engine dressup kit.

ugghhhhhhhh!!!!!! get there this morning and they are still behind, so I have been rebooked for June1 now, which sucks as I was hoping to have the car done before our big meet in Red Deer, I'd go to another shop but these guys are worth the wait, I know it will be done properly the first time.

sorry guys I'm disappointed as well.

f the hood and mount are straight and even get the locking ones , if the hood is angled I'd get the regular ones. My hoods angled and it took me a month to get the locking ones to line up and tons of custom work.

I happened to think of another thing about the original '70s era hood pins. You actually wanted the pins mounted sideways instead of front to back. At that time, few cars had internal hood releases and you could use little padlocks instead of the pins. Mounting the studs with the holes aligned sideways, you could close the padlocks with the lock facing you, when you stood in front of the car. Otherwise, the lock would have been pointing either toward the center of the hood or off to the side, making it harder to open.
