There was nothing on the show about Challenger, except that Jay said to go to his web site.
I tried the web site but I had problems with seeing the video, so I quit it.

When he said the car was built in Detroit, I'm assuming he meant figuratively and not literally - giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for the link! I thought it was too funny about how Jay was dissing the 70 Challenger so much. I saw an earlier video of his garage and that 70 in particular and he was in love with it. I guess in with the new and out with the old! I would like to pass on to him that if he is so displeased with teh 70 I would gladly take it off of his hands for him.

I didn't see it as really "dissing" his 70, he was basically telling the truth about it - yeah the 70 looks great and it's got great power, but its handling is terrible, gas mileage sucks, and the build quality is atrocious... certainly anyone who has (or has had) one can certainly attest to this. And driving a modern-day interpretation of this car only brings out those "qualities" even more. Doesn't mean the 70 is still not an ultra-cool car and doesn't mean I personally still wouldn't love to have one, though.

I can attest to that as well. I owned one and they did not metal treat the car for rust and typically 20% of the bolts and nuts were missing. Anybody that has ever rebuilt one knows that much of the hardware was missing. The car was not computer designed so the fit and form was bad, it had poor sound insulation and the car squeaked and creaked when you drove them. And I am not even talking about engine/fuel system/suspension/brakes and many other technologies that have been greatly improved over the year.



That is exactly why I would not ever buy 35 year old technology.


But the stying of yesteryear is why we have this website to begin with.
