Default Trouble putting gas in today

I filled up before a 50 mile drive to my VA hospital today. Had a total of 104 when i tried to fill up to check the gas mileage. All I could get in was about 2 gal. What , That can't be right. I got in the car and drove off . It wasn't full on the gauge either. So I stopped at another station. One gal. was all it would take. The gauge could be off . But I know I'm not get 37 mile to the gal. What give's . Has anyone else had this problem.

Never. I had one not shut off once. The rubber fume deflector was hard as a brick and didn't let the nozzle go in far enough to make it shut off automatically. Hey, I guess that whole quarter panel was needing waxed anyway.

I'm thinking could be something wrong with the vent . I had a Toyota Tundra . That Toyota said not to fill up all the way . Gas could get in the vent and soak a carbon filter . But I don't think I have over filled it . May have to go to the dealer. If it keep's doing that.

Stopped at the dealer today. Told them of the problem yesterday. The Challenger as well as the 300 . Has a gas tank that is on both sides of the drive shaft . Has two fuel pump's and dual sensors for the gas gauge. Is possible for one side to be more full than the other . And cause the gas at the fuel station to kick off . But the other tank not be full. Then they will balance out with the pump from one side pumping into the other one . And a average reading on the dash gauge. If they are out of sink too much . The engine check light will come on.

No problem filling it up, just keeping it in it.

Guess I've been too easy on my R/T . But as I understand it . The pump's are to level up the amount of gas. At least now I understand how it work's.
