Ok, so the time has come for the contest for the Dodge Challenger promotional posters from Dodge!
...

Ok, so the time has come for the contest for the Dodge Challenger promotional posters from Dodge!

The posters came to the house this past weekend and they are much nicer than your average store-bought poster. They are super thick, heavy duty posters and look like this:

So, on to the contest!

It is a simple trivia contest with all of the answers available in the commercials featuring the new Challenger, as well as at Dodge's official blog - RedLetterDodge. RLD has a ton of great Dodge information, as well as wallpapers of the latest Dodge products like the 2010 Dodge Challenger.

The contest is live as soon as this thread is up and entries should be PMed to me with the subject: CONTEST. While I would be amazed if there was more than one person who gets them all right AND hits the tiebreaker on the nose, but in that case, the person who got their entry in first, wins.

Oh, by the way, there will be five winners - all of which will get the poster shown above.

The Questions:
1 What is the 6th-from-last spoken word in the Dodge Challenger “Freedom” commercial?

2 At what time (in seconds) in the Dodge Challenger “Freedom” commercial does the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 first appear?

3 How many lucky winners won the Freedom advertising posters during the contest at RedLetterDodge?

4 How many Dodge Challengers appear in the Freedom commercial?

5 What are a couple things America got right?

6 In the Antique Challenger photo commercial, how many times do they say the word “Challenger”?

7 What is the 7th-from-last word in the Antique Challenger Photo commercial?

8 Who is pictured with General Washington and the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8? Be specific.

9 Tie-break question. Price is right rules are in effect (closest without going over). How many miles did I put on my 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 test car in the 8 days that I had it?

Good luck!

For those too lazy to hunt for the commercials..here you go:

A friend of mine claims that there were many more 2009 Challengers built than 1970s. I disputed that and did some research. Here is the result:

There were twice as many Challengers built in 1970 than in 2009. In 1970, 76,935 Challengers were built (the first and most popular year), but only 8,512 (11%) were R/Ts. There were a lot of 318s and 225s running around.

In 2009 (the first full model production run) there were 31,500 Challengers built. Of these 18,282 were RTs and SRTs (58%)- 9,696-R/Ts and 8,586-SRTs.

Like today, in 1970 Mustangs and Camaros greatly outsold the Challenger. There were 198,239 Mustangs built and 48,482 (24%) were GTs or Boss models. There were 124,889 Camaros built and 20,209 (16%) were SS or Z-28 models.

In 1971, Challenger sales nosedived to 29,880 cars. Mustang and Camaro sales, however remained strong. There were 149,678 Mustangs and 114,630 Camaros built in 1971.

:mad:and its a DOOZY, fortunately or unfortunately i watched as
it happened:(....

the worst...

:mad:and its a DOOZY, fortunately or unfortunately i watched as
it happened:(....

the worst part about it was they tried to DENY it as he attempted to move his car!!!!! i said don't you move that F'ing car. he thought better of it and got out and then the arrogant SOB turned his back and walked away from me, i told him if you walk away the police will be here when you come out. he turned his back and walked away so i called the PD.

she was there in 5 minutes, really pretty young blond officer, that was the only good part of the night.

i told her what happened and she was sorry that it happened as
in her words" that is a beautiful car" i said, it used to be.
as I'm talking to her i notice he has FOP plates and i said he is going to play that card and she says we don't play that here in this twp.
as we are talking he walks out and she asks me to please stay away from him as she could tell i was extremely angry. he proceeds to lie and say I'm a retired blah blah blah out of Philadelphia, i almost laughed at him because she cut him off mid stream and said "sir, that's neither here nor there" he then asked for her badge number, I'm thinking why, because she is doing her job? JERK!!!!

so he continues to deny his wife did it and she says sir unlock your door
blah blah sir unlock your door, blah blah blah SIR,PLEASE UNLOCK YOUR DOOR!!!! and then he knew she meant business. so he unlocked the door and she opened the door up and the edge matched the ding and color of his car which was left on my car perfectly.

he then says well i don't care that's why i have insurance, ARROGANT BASTARD, then he says well we didn't do it again and flat out lies that i wasn't watching as she did it,( i was standing about 50ft away). what? make up your mind,
the kicker is as his old lady goes to get back in the car SHE ALMOST
DID IT A SECOND TIME, if he wasn't behind her to grab the door she would
have hit my car again and the officer seen it.
she tells him to leave NOW.... and tells me to wait.

after he drives away she comes up to me and says, i am putting in the report that his door matched the dent perfectly and that she was sorry again that it happened as it is a beautiful car.

i asked her when would it be ready for pick up next Tuesday/Wednesday?
she says NO I'm going to write it up right now for you so you can get your copy tomorrow(today). which i thought was really cool.

the bummer is being inferno red its 3 stage and according to my neighbor
its a pain in the keaster to match up as he works at a body shop, he
says he thinks the paintless dent removal guy will be able to get out 99%
but it wouldn't be perfect, at this stage i would take 99% because i don't want them to try and blend the paint.

to some people this may not be bad but i lost a lot of sleep last night, i dont take this car anywhere because of stupid people like this and i guess it was my night to meet up with some of them.

"that's my story and its sad but true, about a dentless car that i once knew"

Who wants to win a free Challenger promotional poster from Dodge?

So, Dodge emailed me the other day and asked if I would be interested in running a contest to give away a couple promotional posters from their new Dodge Challenger advertising campaign. The poster looks like this:

Dodge gave away 20 of these posters on their official information site, RedLetterDodge.com and along with the poster contest there, they have a ton of free wallpapers from this ad campaign along with a ton of other free Dodge images and information. (click here for a look at their contest, along with all of the wallpaper choices at the bottom of the page)

If you didnt get in on one of the 20 posters from RedLetterDodge, you can still get your chance. Next Tuesday is my birthday and on Tuesday, I will be posting a very very simple set of trivia questions about the two new Dodge Challenger commercials. For ease of use, I have embedded them in this post...although they arent working right now, Im working on that. For now, you can click the links to watch the videos!

Watch them and pay close attention to the details. On September 7th at 9pm EST Im going to post the trivia questions and everyone will have 24 hours to submit their answers...there will likely be lots of correct entries but only 5 winners...there will be a little spin on the contest to help break any ties. it will be fun. just wait!

anyways, on to the videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ezk0e1VL80o
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkAw835agX0

Remember, pay close attention to all of the details and be prepared for the trivia questions to be posted next Tuesday!

Hey Challenger Fans, I'm thinking of putting the ZEX 125 shot challenger kit on mine. Even though I like the supercharger or turbo kits....I'm not convinced that the stock bottom ends of our motors will handle the EXTENDED abuse of those kits....I believe the only correct way to supercharge or turbo is to start with a modified crank assembly & forged pistons period. The expense of that plus the cost of the kits are too high for me. It is my belief that 425hp is plenty for the 90% of driving I do...but for the other 10% when I need 500--550hp to race I could flip the switch.;)

Sales of the Challenger, Mustang and Camaro (May 2009 through May 2010)

The Camaro outsells both the Challenger and Mustang.
Not that this is really "news" since it seems as if there is now a Camaro on every block.
But, none the less here are the sales for the new generation “Pony Cars”.

Just like the "good old Days", you will not be seeing a Challenger on every street corner, unlike the Camaro..............and that's a good thing!
