motor/trans alignment ???????

Looking for information on my chassis set-up. I am building a 72 challenger street/strip drag radial car. 12 pt. cage with minimal body modifications. has magnum force front suspension with all the caltracs rear. my question is when putting the motor/mid plate is it better to leave the engine/trans offset or to center them. I was always under the assumption to center them but while lining up the trans i found that i need to severely alter the trans tunnel to accomodate this. would i be better to only slightly offset the motor/trans to try and keep it as centered as possible? guess any info would be appreciated

Way beyond me. But I watched a show on spikeTV and they centered the Hemi. Last season I believe. The title is Muscle Car or something similar. Maybe you could get the season on DVD. They used an old Chally and modern updated it with new hemi and brakes. And suspension. I would love to hear more about your Challenger and some pictures if you have them available.

Do you have the ablility or tools to make your own Trans tunnel? They make mock transmissions now but not sure if they have one for your application, lot lighter and easier to move around a plastic trans.. I learned a little about trans tunnels at Wyotech but not enough to to explain this..

Haha. That's so such a ****ing coincidence. I was actually going to tell him the exact same thing because I saw the same episode. The show is called Muslce Cars with an S. It's a pretty neat show.
