2009 Hemi Engine upgrades??
I read this on Allpar but am not sure if this applies to the SRT or RT or Both...
For 2009, the Hemi engine was upgraded to get 5% higher gas mileage, and more power, especially at lower engine speeds for a better off-the-line feel, thanks to variable cam timing, an expanded MDS operating range, an increased compression ratio, improved port flow, and reduced restriction exhaust and induction. Other updates are crankshaft structural upgrades, a dual-mass crankshaft damper, floating pin piston design, valve spring design and oil pump capacity increase for VVT. (Again, manuals can’t use MDS — yet).
Any ideas?

Well, considering the 6.1L Hemi in the SRT does not have MDS or VVT, I would say they are talking about the 5.7L Hemi offered in the R/T.

One good thing. The mileage on the 6.1 was improved. As a result, the gas guzzler tax was reduced from $2,400 in 2008 to $1,700 in 2009 (auto and manual).

New 6.1L block from Chrysler 980.00
Offset crank, cam, new rods, pistons, bearings, etc 3100.00
I still need to get ported heads from Sharadon Performance and upgrade fuel system
Presto 7.0L (426ci) @ 570hp and 608pf of torque.
I will keep the OE block in new condition for the matching numbers.

I run a performance business and the costs are special. It is still not that bad. Check with Moe's Performance, or Sharadon Performance for great deals on performance upgrades.

Thanks... After reading it again I figured as much, but was still hoping for 450 from the 6.1
