Challenger Gas milage: Is it just me?
I just got back from a 250 mile run with my '08 and I have to ask: Is it just me or is everyone getting 22.3 mpg? I took the Chally up I-70 here in Colorado over the steepest and highest miles on all of I-70 and got that mileage. If there is not a problen with my mileage computer then why are Challys rated at 13-18 by the EPA? I travelled at 80 for most of the way with short bursts to over 100 (I'm a baaad boy). I was also starting at 6000 foot altitude and ended at 10,000 foot altitude. So I don't baby it but it is one of the highest mileage vehicles I own. Am I the only one?

The official EPA rated milegeage is 13 city and 18 highway. I get this straight off my sticker and I certainly hope I get better milegage than a full-size truck...

haha I hope so too but the challenger is pretty heavy...but highway should be good....city traffic is where you will feel it the most.

I was doing 27.5 in my R/T with MDS on the way back from Big Bear WITH the AC until I hit traffic......then when I got home I was at 22.5 but that was after lots of stop and go.
Highway is great, street will kill you.

I think i'm averaging about 12.5mpg lol I am goinna check the comp in a few minutes when i go get my coffee.
But when I first got the car I was driving very conservativley and noticed that I got around 22mpg just like original poster and I thought the computer was broken and the gauge said only a half quarter was used to get from Palm Beach to South Miami. In my old car it used more then a quarter so i'm like wtf???
19.5 gallon fuel tank.

It all depends on the individual and how heavy your right foot is....I don't think anyone is buying the SRT based on it's EPA rating....

I have a little over 200 miles on my 6 spd R/T, and decided to fill the tank since 93 octane was 2.47 yesterday. Now since i picked up the car, the engine has been either off or wide open throttle. Not much in between! I checked my mileage for the first 200 miles and it was 18.03 mpg!! I cannot believe it! I can't wait to take a long trip, because i am pretty sure the car will match (or better) the 25 mpg it's rated at for freeway.
