Default Demand dying down?

I just did a search on ebay for challengers. There's 5 or 6 up there. A couple have bids. . . however there's some with the buy it now option of only a few thousand over msrp. That's a substantial drop over the 20k over sticker they were going for just a few weeks ago. It seems as though the "must have it first" buyers have already paid for theirs and all that's left are the reasonable people!

Well, it looks like the initial numbers are going to be more than origionally let on.

Also, most of the people who want one have put in their oders.

Only problem is, if Dodge ends up not making as many as there have been orders put in, prices could go back up.

That's pretty much why we haven't really been actively taking pre-orders. We took one from a guy who paid for his in full, but we don't want to sell cars we don't have.

We've pretty much been telling people that as of right now its $20k over sticker, but liable to change once production numbers are released.

That was my understanding. I guess they had some sort of proof that they would have the product on hand in time or those auctions just haven't been pulled yet.

My prediction was that there would be more SRT 8's than market would demand and retail price would prevail. Barrett jackson on Jan 19th might be big benefit to overchargeing dealers.

time will tell.

I'd go SRT8 at retail, probably baby Challenger in summer if demand for SRT8 is bonkers. I figure my big block '70 is plenty cool as is.
