They are very cool and they do offer a solution to many of the problems posed by conventional car doors, the only problems I see are: Interior of door would have to be plain with no arm rests, etc, and the outside skin of the door would have to be relatively smooth with no major body lines (aka...the Challenger door with it's body line wouldn't work). And, there is still the issue of making space under the floor into which they retract…an after-market add-on would limit ground clearance, which means to be the most effective, the entire car most be designed with this type door in mind…(as stated in the video)
But all these issues aside, there is no getting around that they are very cool………

they have hydraulic stuff like that for trucks with big step sides... my guess would be something like that, but going a little farther... It's pretty damn cool though...

I think lambo doors would be more practical.
