How am I the douche, douche?

I will defend my car against ignorant haters everytime. For the past six weeks I have spent many miles in a brand new Mercedes, a brand new Infiniti, and my Challenger. The Challenger stereo blows away the higher end cars. The car is not a bass machine for a ghetto gang banger. It is an all-around great system. I have zero complaints.

I have had custom boxes built for both of my trucks and have dealt with many custom audio shops. I also grew up in a mechanic shop, I know what I am talking about. Nice pun with "stereo type." Do not call someone elses stereo system crappy if you have a shaft radio, you lose all credibility. The Nissan guy crossed the line with his comment.

Trunk space? The trunk is huge. It will hold the box and a set of golf clubs, nothing else belongs it it.

$800? I gave the original poster a viable option. If I wanted more bass, I would consider this product. This car was not built for a conservative consumer.

i didnt realize there was a link,i thought it was a reference title, douche.

and although thats a low profile box, hell have less trunk space.

side mount subs like the stock one save much more room.

plus they are kind of tacky, compared to the side mount..

and $800? no way in hell.

u can buy 1 JL audio 12W6V2 with 1 amp and put it in a side mount enclosure and get MUCH more bass and sound quality to those low grade "mopar" kickers.

for less money, and youll be saving space.

and dont get me wrong about the kicker thing,i always liked kicker, but only their comp series subs, not the cheap stuff they make for factory stereos.

but the best bang for the buck, hands down,is JL..amazing sound quality and bass, just in 1 sub alone.

and this is all something anyone with a little brains could do,and not even have to take it to a stereo shop.

Okay guys we need to be more respectful of each other and not resort to name calling or having a bad attitude on this forum.

Remember everybody has their own opinion. If you do not like it then leave or don't listen to it. Let's not start fights or resort to name calling. Life is too short for that.

This is a "family friendly" forum and so let's not have any foul language or condescending remarks.

I appreciate your support.

Now let's talk about the baddest Muscle Car in the World......the Challenger.

what exactly is a "shaft" radio?

i dont know where you get the idea that im some gangster wanna be,if thats what u were implying.
i listen to hard rock, metal, rap and some r&b,and some alternative...so i need a system that is versitile, which i dont feel dodge did.

i have owned a mercedes, and the stock system was great...the system in my acura, not so great, the system in the challenger, mediocre.

my dad owns a challenger,i drive it often, and i have many friends on this forum with challengers.
andre@edge,diam dave,chally girl...just to name a few,these are all people i know in person.

i love the challenger, just not the stereo (actually just the sub,the rest is great)...the OP was asking what he had to do to add another sub on the other side,i gave him his options.

the system you posted WAS a viable option, but to me it is too bulky and expensive. a right side mounted sub will be less bulky, cheaper, and much better sound.

i AM a mechanic by trade, and so is my dad,and many friends. also, i have had my sound systems in the past in my 5 other(past) vehicles, and in about 2 more weeks will have one in my acura after 2 years of owning it.

so to say the least,i know what im talking about.

and i never said the nissan owner was less than an idiot.

hope this clears things up a bit.

When you get as old as me, the sound system becomes less and less important. The hearing has started to diminish. A good sound system is wasted on me. I can appreciate the post about the exhaust being sweet music. You young fellows need to protect yourself as much as possible by not turning those systems up too loud and maybe you will get to appreciate them longer than me.

A-men, Brother. Too many blasts down the hwy with the windows down, and blasts down the hwy on sportbikes without ear plugs and too many concerts and stereos with the volume set to 11! Oh yeah, and guns without ear protection didn't help, either. Walking through department stores are really frustrating because everyone's head is bobbing to a cool tune playing over the PA and I can bearly hear enough of the notes to make out the song. Luckily, I'm at an age where talk radio interests me more than music. Besides, all the groups I like don't make Albums...CDs anymore anyways. Fortunately, I can still hear a 3/4 lift cam from 10 miles away
