Fun day at the dealer
I went to dealer about 40 miles from my house that had a White R/T on the lot fully loaded.
they had a $1,000 mark up that I laughed at made them take it off in the first 5 mins.
We struggled over the price for hours, this guy was clueless with the numbers.
I hated the 20" Wheels and told him and used that as my bargaining chips the whole time to get the price down.
Long story short, I walked away 2 hours into it to grab lunch and told him to call me if he had a better price. ($3.7250 was the MSRP)
He was trying anything to get me to stay but we left anyway.
Calls me in a panic saying that he could do it for 36k but was still washy about the numbers.
So I said I would do it for 36 and we drove back there.
Then he sat us down with his monkey and he has $36,750 on the paper and I said
"Whoa...I was told 36k and that is why I came back"
He went to talk to the GM and the guy comes back and shakes my hand and says "I got the Deal!"
I was only 50 more bucks off!!!
What an Insult!....so I walked out again.
Like clockwork they chased me down in the parking lot and went to talk to the GM again, but they came back with the same number.
Then they called me 5 miles down the freeway trying to get me to come back and said $36,500
I told them $36,400 or forget it!
i haven't heard back yet...
I can't believe this dude lied to me to get me back in. (well actually I can)
Out of principal I took off....
It was kind of fun messing with them tho....8)
I'm sure they will be blowing up my phone first thing in the morning.
I might have to change my maximum price since it's a new day......hehehe
Stay away from Crown Dodge in Ventura guys!

RE: Fun day at the dealer
I've seem SEs with a dealer markup of over $2,000.00!! If they call you back....have them pay for the gas you used going back and forth to the dealership..........Perhaps they should also throw in a mug, die-cast, hat, t-shirt...whatever, to make you feel "better"........like you said "fun day at the dealer"
Surprised he didn't tell you he would have to turn out the lights if he went any lower.....It's all a big game, so keep your game face on.......Good luck.

RE: Fun day at the dealer
Like Expected, they called back this morning apologizing (sounds like the saleman got reemed hard by the owner)
They are offering $850 under MSRP now at my last offer of $36,400 hehehe
They also threw in a full tank of gas etc....
I really hate this place and these guys working there but I want that car even tho I don't dig the 20" wheels on it, but those can be changed...
It's either buy this one or wait till November for mine to be built. It's been BG status for over 3 weeks and it's starting to scare me.
what would you guys do?
