Future Challenger..Chrystal Ball Time
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts about what Chrysler will be doing to "update" the Challenger for 2010 and beyond (if there is a beyond). The reason I was asking is because I can't see Chrysler selling the Challenger basically unchanged (body wise) for a third year. And, as I look back at the original Challenger run..They undated the front and back for the second year, then in the third year they did it again. What do you think...a repeat for 2010...(a 1971 type update?).
OR, perhaps they will turn the Challenger into a Cuda and start the cycle over...Or maybe the Challenger will be gone.....so it will not matter anyway...Any thoughts?

I could maybe see having some of the styling components of the prototype phased in as yearly changes - the crossbar grille, for example, and perhaps the full taillight bar with the reverse lights on the bumper. Hopefully the concept's interior will see its way into the car eventually, or at least some version of it - that was too nice of an interior to let go to waste.
Honestly though... as much as I hate to say it, I predict this car will be gone by the end of 2012, especially if Chrysler keeps going the direction it's going. I honestly can't see it lasting beyond that. This car is the Prowler of the 21st century (albeit a much better car).
Hope I'm wrong, time will tell. [sm=sigh.gif]

I'd imagine the same as the Charger.
Like the Charger Daytonas. A Lime Green Banana Yellow and Plum version will come out with extra stripes and styling nd primary colors and maybe even call it a Challenger Cuda is my guess.

I would guess some replacements for the B5 blue and Hemi orange colors, a new steering wheel, and some minor fixes to things they find not working in the 08s and 09s. I think the V6 will probably have the biggest upgrade by getting the new phoenix engine and a 5 or 6 speed transmissions and possibly a manual offered.

I would like to see a true hard-top and then a convertible. Other changes will be minor for the next 5 year (Mustang 2005-2010) I would expect a lot special models, maybe a T/A?

Here are my thoughts:
1. The LX platform is just shortened to be an LC (I believe it used to be called an LY). If I remember I think they might do a replacment to that instead of just a shortened LX.
2. Retro colors
3. I hope they have some new hood options and trunk wing changes.
4. I hope this platform will have some internal changes, so the Charger, Challenger, and 300 might have a new interior design.
5. How about a 6.4L.......V10........okay I am just dreaming now.
I hope I am wrong but I think we may be lucky if we see the Challenger past 2010.
This is based on fuel costs, economy, the state of the auto industry and auto companies, and cafe' regulations being around the corner.

I see them offering all the Retro colors of course...
It would be sweet if they continued building them through and just kinda swicthed or metomorphisized into a 'Cuda...
Updating the 6.1 Hemi like they've done to the 5.7... It's gotta be done...
A CONVERTIBLE!!!!

In view of the world economy and the need to completely overhaul the product mix, I doubt much money is going to be spent on a product that's a bit anachronistic going forward.
New colors, in and out. Boutique versions like a T/A, SRT-10 would be about it.

I too agree about different color options. I would hope they would also get more creative with more stripe packages, hoods and accessories - such as hood pins, spoilers, rims, fog light kits, maybe even gauge pods. All are relatively inexpensive for them to do and they will have figured out that they should tap into $$$ the aftermarket will be getting. I hope anyway.
