Default Help with members Opinions

Any members that have dealt with dealerships or more than one please give me your opinion on this. I have av present order for a 2009 R/T with a dealership who gave me a printout with my name as the buyer, meaning the order is in my name and it has a VON number in BA status. Last week I checked and they told me it was now in C status but would not provide a print out or let me look at the computer screen to show me the C status.

Now my question is, I have another dealer that called me and offered to order me the same car at $100 over dealer invoice which would be quite a savins from the first deal which is $200 to $500 UNDER MSRP plus I have a $500 deposit on the first deal.

My concern is also the timing as the first deal may be built way before the second and at my age I never know if I have the time to wait an extra 6 to 9 months for this car.
So I'm asking you all what you would do???? Thanks for all your Opinions or ideas!!

With the allocation issues, and oversales of the 09 srt, I would keep the bird in the hand.

If the deposits are refundable, I would order from both dealerships.

Unless you're 108 years old, I don't think 6 to 9 months is THAT big a deal. In the greater scheme of things, someone 21 never knows if they're going to have an anvil dropped on their head. The extra wait may be worth the money.

No offense, but if age is that much of a factor, then I would not be worried about money. If you are wanting to get get a true muscle car before you go to the big raceway in the sky, just get an 08 from a nearby dealer that has one. The SRT not only has the better engine, but all of the engineering differences also.

Now, if age really is not going to make a 6 or 9 month difference, I agree with YoDesigner. See if you can order both and cancel one.

Good luck,

Dave

The fact that they would not give you a print out or show you your status
on their computer is puzzling...did they explain why they could not.. was
ther explanation possibly legit...[sm=dontgetit.gif] I would not let the age factor get
you in a panic..none of us know when our number will be up [sm=grinangel.gif]
Is the dealer local who gave you the $100 over invoice quote..that is a good deal.
Remember cars like this do not come along often and some dealers are going to
take full advantage of your challenger lust..they know it will last only so long
with the looming economy and gas prices entering the stratosfear. If you dont mind
PMi-ing me the dealer who offered you the $100 over invoice, if its somewhat local
in NJ. Thanks and good luck.. I think i would look into the other dealer if you think
your being jerked around.

to clear some things up the dealer that said he could not show me the computer screen said the reason was that it is a strictly a dealer program and the owner has authorized only one person to have the password and use the program and veiw the screen and that there are other orders and customer names and info on it. This dealer so far has been extremely good to me and I feel they are honest even with that excuse

secondly As for the other dealer he lied to me big time awhile back when I talked to him about a 2008 SRT8 and this time in reply to a Dodge site build it yourself that I filled out and asked for bids is when he replied by phone wen I gave him all the info as to the exact car with all the options I wanted and he sent me an E-mail as to the $100 over invoice offer to order that car and the prices are pretty close to what the dealer invoice prices I found on this forum are
As for the age factor really what I am thinking is I've recently seen very close to me 3 different friends and or neighbors all men 2 yopunger than me and 1 a couple of years older than me all in apparently good health at the time up and pass away in a matter of 3 or 4 months so that has me a little concerned time wise as for all the long waiting time on these Challengers. Now my health is under control at the present time and I do have a 4500 deposit on the first car but I am sur it will be built before one that i may order with the second dealer. Not sure if I can get the dep[osit back on the first car
What a delima a bird in the hand is better than one in the bush but it will cost a lot more at MSRP
ANY IDEAS ANYONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Fat Cat
