Default Production hood

Man I feel like a fool. Hear all I heard was about how the hood had C.F. bonded to metal. I get shown a high res. pic close up of production car and you can see the shadow from C.F. sticker stripe. But it is ok that means eather delete option or I take off because I feel it is to much with the hemi strip on side If hemi stipe not a option I will after market it.

I thought all the press releases claimed a CF "look" which would be consistent with a patterned stripe. I think a solid color stripe would look better. But, hey, we'll see it soon enough.

I'm more concerned about how Dodge describes a "functional" hood scoops. If they are like the Charger SRT, they will only allow cool air to flow over the engine and manifolds.

The hood scoops should be part of a sealed ram air unit with butterfly valves, like the concept car.

I agree. Thats the way the GTO was also unless you bought the ram ait kit aftermarket. Cools engine but usless for air intake. I also hope it is true ram air and not just on the SRT's if they do have it. I think the butter flies were a stand out grabber they said muscle car but I also heard that production cars wont have them. [:@] I hope I heard wrong.

If that's the case, I would rather see the Shaker hood come back. However, I don't know how that would work from a functionality standpoint because the throttle body is on the front of the intake manifold on the 6.1L compared to the old 440s and 426 Hemis which had the carbs sitting on top of the intake and that is what your scopp attached to.

I am totally assuming that the functionaly butterfly scoops will feed the throttle body directly and I have never questioned it would not happen.

In actuality, due to air flow they will look cool but not work all that well because for better air flow they need to be elevated 3-5 inches like
in the picture below. That one has a superior air flow.

2004 Mustang Mach 1

The Shaker is back in the new Mach 1 - still on the job, shakin' its scoop and sucking down more air for more power. What it's feeding is Ford's 4.6 liter, DOHC V-8. Thanks to the forced air induction, specially calibrated camshafts and freer flowing intake and exhaust manifolds, the Mach 1 delivers 308 hp (310 with manual trans), 323 lb. ft. of torque (335 stick) - all sizeable gains over other V-8 Mustangs (the GT rates 260 hp, 302 lb. ft. of torque).
