RPM's at startup.

Last 3 days noticed when I started up in the morning the needle goes to one and sits there for a little bit then goes to 500 rpm's as soon as I go in reverse or any other gear. Then yesterday the needle went right to one , went up a tiny bit , down , up then to .500

sorry for a newbie question but that's what I am lol so is this normal ? "Dade Jeep Dodge " says it all depends on the temp.

usually the car just starts up and sinks to 500rpms... I guess but I don't alaways pay attention just theese last 3 days the startup seemed odd?

Electronics you gotta love them. This is perfectly normal as it is compensating for cold start issues.

Ok I do live in FL and it's not really cold yet but I know it's fall now so idk but as long as it's normal i'm satisfied =)

I've seen no such thing. Now the coolest weather I had so far is 78 degrees, maybe a little less.;)

oh my god is this another issue ?

This only happened the first 2 times I started the car today .. and yesterday when I didn't start it for the entire day and at five o clock I noticed the same thing about startup

This is NOT an issue. I live in sunny california and for the first 2-3 minutes my rpm sits at 1000, and when it warms it drops. Thats how I know its time to drive :-)
Just a fancy choke system.

My R/T behaves exactly the same way upon start-up.

The computer manages the engine based on many factors.

I would not worry about it - it is perfectly fine.
