VinWIN is TOTALLY cool!
I did not realize that VinWIN tells you exactly where your car is at any given moment during rail transport. A few minutes ago, it told me the train was in Delray, Mich. (which Wikipedia notes "is considered to be one of the most polluted residential areas in Detroit"). Now, the train is proceeding through Oakwood, Mich. After the Challenger was loaded in Sterling Heights, I had not expected to find out anything till it arrived at the switching yards in East St. Louis, Ill.

RE: VinWIN is TOTALLY cool!
Congrats to you Roswell, THE CAR is on the way! I hope there is no delay getting though the flooded area in Indiana. I have been watching the news intently as on Saturday I may have to drive through that area and I really need the I80 highway open to make my drive easier! Good that VinWin is showing that sort of info. I have not had any updates since Monday with a Truck dispatch. I was hoping it meant I would see it loaded to a railcar yesterday at least but no go so far.

Now the Challenger has made its way to Grabill, Ind. The town's web site notes that it's "located in the middle of a large Amish settlement" and urges us to "enjoy the
rural scenes surrounding our town including picturesque farms and horse-drawn vehicles." Obviously, nobody will try to trainjack the Challenger there.

Mine has gone to Plant release and I am hoping I start to see VinWin changes with my train headed this way. I have ETA of the 23rd so it will interesting to see if how VinWin updates today and how it catches up on Monday.

Venthos, a question about the registry page and VinWin you have setup. Did you put in some script to automatically change your status if there is a status change on VinWin? Yesterday my status was JB and today I went in to change it to KZ and it was already changed for me. Thank you for whatever you did on this!

He has been writing a lot of new scripts for the site lately. It will even email you when your status changes now. So it wouldnt surprise me if it does change automatically now as well.

VinWIN will tell you where your car was on any given date from planning through delivery to the dealer. Just checked my Challenger's dates.....interesting. Everyone should run their numbers just to see where your car was on any given date during it's build. And, if you are waiting for your's to be completed..will give you a pretty good idea of when you should be taking delivery............very useful tool..

RE: VinWIN is TOTALLY cool!
Yep brucer
The registry now checks everyones car status who has a VIN attached to their car every 30 minutes. If your status is found to be further along than you have listed on the registry, it updates it for you and then shoots you an email to let you know. However, you didn't get an email since it looks like you don't have an email on file on the registry (when I first created the registry I didn't ask for email addresses on signup).
The only catch is that the registry (which uses VinWIN for the checks) can only "see" status moves between D1, I, JB, JE, JS, KZ, and KZX (KZX = delivered to dealer). So it won't see your E, F, G movements and other stuff like that.
Now is the time for everyone to make sure their email is up-to-date on the registry so they can get their automated status updates. If you have a spam filter you can whitelist:
noreply@dodgechallengerregistry.com
as the alerts will be coming from that address. Enjoy!
