RE: Playlist for the Challenger

Very nice list! I have one that is similar and not as long. Going to be a lot of rocking out when THE CAR is rolling!

You Can Leave Your Hat On 4:18 Joe Cocker

My wife and I had this on our wedding playlist 4 years ago.
Her parents danced to it. Theyre in their 70s.
There wasnt a dry eye in the house - from laughter!

When I pick-up my vehicle tomorrow I will input all these songs on my iPod and bed the engine and brakes properly. Maybe a trip to Las Vegas is in order, who knows these things.

1. The Stooges - "1969", "1970", and "Down On the Street"

2. Deep Purple - "Black Night", "Speed King", "Fireball", "Demon's Eye", "Space Truckin'", "Stormbringer" and "Highway Star"

3. Black Sabbath - "N.I.B.", "Paranoid", "Fairies wear Boots", all Sabbth Bloody Sabbath album, "Symptom of the Universe", and "Johnny Blade"

4. Led Zepellin - "Communication Breakdown", "Whole Lotta Love", and "Rock and Roll"

5. Elvis - "Burning Love", "Suspicious Minds"(especially after financing, lol), "Promised Land", "Mystery Train / Tiger Man (Las Vegas - 1970)"

6. Johnny Cash - "One piece at a time", "Orange Blossom Special"(appropiate since that is were my vehicle came on a train)

7. Iggy Pop - "Real Wild Child (Wild One)"

8. Grand Funk Railroad - "Got This Thing On the Move"

9. AC/DC - "Shoot for Thrill", "Highway to Hell", and "TNT"

10. The Cramps - "Peter Gunn", "hanky Panky", "Bikini Girls with Machine Guns", "Heartbreak Hotel", " and "Psychotic Reaction"

11. Los Straitjackets - "Whittier Blvd", "Black is Black", "Treat Her Right"

12. Procol Harum - "Whisky Train"

13. The Reverend Horton Heat - "Like a Rocket", "Psychobilly Freakout", "Beer :30",

14. The Rolling Stones - "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Paint It Black"

15. Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs - "Wooly Bully"

16. T.Rex - "Bang a Gong (Get It On)"

17. Steppenwolf - "Born to Be Wild"

Roswell,

Where is Free? It's all right now. I also didn't see any Jimi Hendrix or Led Zepplin. Whats up with that, otherwise a very cool list. Lets see there was Traffic, Mott the Hoople, Uriah Heep, April Wine, Robin Trower, Rolling Stones, Pat Travers, Dickie Betts, Atlanta Rythem Section, Pink Floyd, Ten Years After, Humble Pie just to name a few more oldies.

My suggestion: put "Born to be Wild" first and drop that AC/DC "stuff". I cannot stand that screamin BS for more than one song per month. Add some early Deep Purple: like "Highway Star" and "Smoke on the Water". Now we're talkin.

I should point out that I winnowed my list down from about 420 songs. Everyone who suggested stuff has good ideas (except for the anti-AC/DC rant ;)), but unfortunately I did not have EVERY song ever recorded. However, I did not exclude any of the songs people mentioned. I simply did not have them.
