Not sure where you are located, but I've seen in different vehicles when the pressures are set at 32, and you get a cold night, science takes over and you can "lose" a few pounds which will turn on...

Most remote starts have a disconnect under the hood to disable the engine. Should be the same thing if you step on the brake w/o the key in the ignition.
