The flywheel, clutch and pressure plate are all mated to the engine and should have 23 splines.

The four speed...

RE: Year One ???

I told her to give Ebay a try.

I think before that she's just been word of mouth and Moparts postings.

I hope I didn't steer her in the wrong direction. We'll see.

RE: 340 or 440-6

You can never have too much Mopar stuff around.

You might be passing by a farm house one day cruising and spot another Challenger that begs for that 440.

I hope so anyway.

Good Luck!

RE: Anybody see this 70 convertible?

It's a KB 500 inch (426 style) and it's way too much to handle on the street.

It will light up the tires and fry them off in 4th gear from an idle with about 1/2 pedal. As a result, it has...

RE: too much?

You can use synthetic but it's not recommended if you have original style clutch paks

RE: 4speed linkage problem

I agree with JDB and yes, E-bodies use the rear mount on the trans. The front mount is for B-Bodies.

RE: reverse problem

JDB, If you took all the linkage off and it still wouldn't go into reverse then it must be a transmission problem.

Let me make sure I understand. If you took all three linkage rods off at the...

RE: 340 or 440-6

Lear, Let's not forget that swapping a 440 into the spot where the 340 was isn't a slam dunk.

1st things first, you'll have to get another transmission if it's auto or at least a bell if it's 4...

RE: Need to wake up a 440!

Yup, 915's are closed chamber and do add a point in compression.

Get the large valve version and you've got a great HP boost.
