RE: Backup Car?
You are correct, but even if GM survives, and they will, Pontiac is dead.

RE: Backup Car?
When I first saw the concept car and heard that the production model would be 95% of the concept I turned to my very understanding wife and gave her the look. She sighed deeply and accepted the inevitable fairly willingly.
The woman is a saint. The current garage is pretty packed:
'67 Mustang Fastback Eleanor Clone
'98 BMW M Roadster
'00 BMW 323i
'00 VW GTI
'00 Porsche Carrera C2
'01 Aprilia Mille R
'02 Dodge Ram Sport
'02 Aprilia Mille R
'04 MV Agusta F4
'08 Ducati 1098
She thought she was safe when we learned that the Challenger was only offered in auto. I knew the manuals were coming out later but I didn't have the heart to tell her. Then one day I took her by the dealership to kick tires and the manuals were there. She knew there was no way we were going to be spending money on new furniture for the living room as long as there was SRT8 that needed a home. A few weeks later "Jake" was home. So I guess my back-up was going to be a sofa if the Challenger hadn't showed up.
