Default tach

I put electronic ignition on my 70 challenger 383 , will the factory tach work on electronic ignition?? It seems to be reading really high......

Yes, it should. If you are still using a coil then the hookup is the same. If you have gone to an HEI or Mallory like set up, then there are specific hook up points that are clearly marked for Tach. What system did you go with? Good luck,Oh and is this a factory tach or after market?

Went and reread, after one cup of coffee. So yes it is a factory tach,and yes I am awake now.

yes it is a factory dodge distributor and the tach is hooked up to the neg side of the coil. At 70 mph the tach reads 6500 with a 4.10 gear......THANX FOR THE INFO..
