Default Value of a 1970 RT/SE HEMI?

Hi Gentlemen,

Here is a barn find, 1970 Hemi RT/SE Automatic, 47,000 mile car stored for last 20 years. I have not seen the car but have spoken to a gentleman who has seen the car
and heard it run twenty years ago. The car from what I can decipher from our conversation is it, is either a 1 of 37 or a 1 of 15 depending on if it has a shaker hood he can't remember that. I spoken to the man who has seen the car, and he has spoken to the owner this weekend and he still has the car. Not sure if he will sell it but am going to see it myself after Thanksgiving. The story goes on as, he bought the care new, and said that if ever needed money for his kids college he knew he could sell the car. Ant idea of the value of this car? Looking at ebay and other sources I'm think 150 - 200k is that right? Any help would be appreciated.

47,000 MILES, An R/T SE, and a HEMI. If you go and see it, take pictures and lots of them. This is a rare car indeed. I've seen a few over the years and they are nice. Give us the options if you can. Like leather interior and rear end type. Also what kind of shape its in. The 47000 miles is the real kicker. Thanks for the story and we hope to see pictures soon.

Not sure how old this ad is, but 200K seems high for a unfinished car. Unless it was in heated storage for the last 20 years and put away in unmolested condition. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...er/531060.html

Hi Gentleman,

Just got back from seeing the car, what a trip. Unforturnulty picture were a no go. no room to take any. But here's what I now know. Car was purchased from Lynnhaven Dodge in 1970 by a high school school teacher. She had the car for 5 years and then sold
it to the current onwer. He and his wife used the car as their daily driver until 1984. When the car was put on blocks and stored. The
car is now blocked in it's current location by four concrete walls. Can't open up hood or trunk or passenger door. Can open drivers door just enough to look in side. Car is blue with white stripes and black leather interior, has se console on roof. Motor, trans and exhaust are not in the car at this time. Motor has been rebuild and stored very nicely on a engine dolly and wooden crate. Have seen broadcast sheet, Yes it is a real r-coded hemi car no dought about it. The owner has all parts for the car, even some extra parts. Car does need alot of work, new paint and strips as well as a new white vinal top. I'm sure brake lines, fuel lines and tank will all need to be replaced. But no real rust that I can see, but there maybe a rotten heater core. Passenger side floor looks like it maybe might have some damage to the arpet area. Has charcoal in front and back seats to absord moisture. Man has turned down several very high cash offers. Told me it will take $300k for him to sell car and take down garage to get it out. So that all I know for now. Will talk to him again later. So this barn find may be in the barn for a long time.

Man what a way to protect your car, build four walls and a roof. No way to get the car out except destroy the walls So much for your modern alarm systems
