Thank you and I enjoy reading your posts on this forum. Looking forward to my car even if I have to wait a bit.

Considering that all the cars I've had in my driving life (12 years: Sunbird, Thunderbird, Grand Am GT) have had sunroofs that was one of my concerns with getting the Challenger next. I'm buying an '09 so I have time to think it out, but at least I have the option! I was actually surprised to see the option.

My mom has a Jetta with a sunroof. It has a piece that slides to cover the glass, i doubt if it would stop leaking tho.

I think most cars with sunroofs have those. It might help if it was just a small amount of water, but I doubt it would prevent water from leaking in from a good rain. I think those serve the purpose of blocking out the sun as opposed to protecting in the interior from leaking.

I'm going to put this Forum to good use and learn from other's experience. I find some people, who are like myself neutral on the idea of Sun Roof, who decided to do it on a whim and see if their experience is overall positive or no.

That's a good point. I might also do that since I'm planning on waiting for a while.

It deppends if the sun roof is flush with roof. Also many people who are going to use these cars are going to not put a ton of ware using them since they are going to be a "collectable"

True, but weather seal stripping can get old and leak whether or not it gets used a lot. I'll probably get it but it's not set in stone either.

One positive note on this as far as the seals go, my mom's 90 (I think) Daytona's sun roof didn't leak after 16/17 years). So that's got to count for something...on the other hand I never though it was that cool other than giving me some head room in the damned thing....it was kind of a tight cockpit.

LOL! I can see how someone would feel as though those were a tight fit. The only thing I will say that might be wrong with that example is I believe those were ones that you could only open manually and all it did was raise and lower itself instead of sliding like a window (or at least the only Daytona I rode in was like that).
