well RT use to mean something but I guess SRT replaced that, so what good is the RT?? It sounds like a step down model now, but I guess as long as it has a HEMI it can still be called an RT

i guess the top of the line would be an srt8 so ill take one of those.Gotta tell ya tho that im almost 6'-7" tall so leg and head room for me will definately play into the equation here.Hope they kept us big guys in mind when they designed it.[&:]

The SRT would have to be the top performance line and you'd expect the best like the bigger Hrmi and 6sp MT and of course the bulge hood and all. It'll be intersting if they will bring back the old colors too, I'd likie mine in Plum Crazy or Sublime. And from the looks of the pics it seems to have enough head room if you put the seat all the way back and all, but that remains to be seen. I think it'll be ok tho.

Decisions, decisions..........I love em both! [8D]

However, since this will be a daily driver for me, the gas consumption will be of importance......especially in Canada where we pay substantially more for gasoline.

Here are the fuel economy EPA figures downloaded from the Canadian dodge website:
http://www.dodge.com/charger/power.html

The famed 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with Multiple Displacement System (MDS) on Charger R/T and Daytona R/T delivers the goods, featuring a deep-skirt cast-iron block with cross-bolted main bearing caps and aluminum alloy heads with legendary hemispherical combustion chambers.

Power: 350 horsepower at 5,000 rpm (340 on R/T)
Torque: 390 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm
Fuel economy: 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway

Behold our most powerful engine ever: the big-bore SRT-engineered 6.1-liter SRT HEMI V8. A mix of modern technology and good old-fashioned hot rod engineering enables this beast to churn out a fearsome 425 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. That's more power per liter than the legendary 426 Street HEMI that reigned supreme in the 1960s and 1970s.

Power: 425 horsepower at 6,200 rpm
Torque: 420 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm
Fuel economy: 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway‡

As you can see, the city mileage is 3 mpg less and the highway mileage is 5 mpg less.

It's gonna be R/T all the way. [:@]

Perhaps the manual will help to improve the fuel economy on the 6.1L. The short gearing is my theory on why the HEMIs get such awful fuel mileage. Though they do get better fuel mileage in real life than many others that get higher EPA ratings.

I dont really care what they call it. Its still got the hemi in it so it could still use the name Rt in my eyes but the new thing is SRT so I think for the newer people that dont know the difference between RT etc... they will just use SRT now.

Probably an SRT8. Not a must, but leaning that way.
