Default Mustang Wheels on a Challenger? not really

I read somewhere that a spare from an 05 and up Mustang would work for the Challengers that came from the factory without a spare (and therefore a lot cheaper than sourcing a Dodge spare after the sale). I looked up the bolt patterns and the Challenger wheels are only slightly different than the Mustang bolt pattern. 5 on 114 millimeters for the Mustang and 5 on 115 millimeters for the Challenger (both oh-so-close to the standard 5 on 4.5 inches of old).

So even though the Mustang tire combination is 2 inches shorter than the Challenger, I figured I'd try to fit my 18 inch Ford Fanblades on my Challenger. They started to go on but the Mustang wheels have a deeper backspacing and the wheels hit the rear sway bar on the Challenger before they fully hit the mounting surface on the rotor, so it's a no-go on the Mustang 18s.

I still need to try the Mustang spare but I can not currently get into the trunk of my Mustang the way I have it put away for the winter.

Has anyone else tried the Mustang spare on a Challenger?

Default RE: Mustang Wheels on a Challenger? not really

Good question Tom,
Perhaps someone on the forum witrh tire know how can answer this.
I know the Stang is 114.3mm
and the LX is 115mm

I have the srt8 and to get 18" wheels to mount I would need offset adapters. If I put the .500 adapter on, I can have the second pattern (wheel pattern on adapter) set to any tire size.
