Question MOPAR T Shift Handle

My Son bought me the T-Handle for my BD, but I can't figure out how to get the leather covered shifter off, and the new handle on? It's not an allen wrench?? Help please!! Oh my Car is an RT 5 speed auto/stick.

Default I've seen one

My local dealer had put one on a car they had . But I didn't look at it close enough to see how it went on . After looking at the shifter on my wife's 300C . I'd ask your dealer .

this is from a site for the pistol grip shifter replacement on an SRT8 but the removal should be the same for yours.good luck.

2. To remove factory handle: Carefully insert a sturdy blade at the bottom of the existing shifter handle
between the leather and lower bezel (silver bottom part) Pry it down, it doesn't take much pressure. Once the lower bezel is down, simply pull up on the knob and it will come off.

instead of prying it down just simply stick the flat head in the groove and twist it a tad and it should move the bottom piece down.

there is a small removable panel (about 1" in size) to the right of the shifter, remove that and depress the button and that allows you to put the shifter into drive, the old shilter has a small screw at the front when you move the shifter to drive you can see it the old will come off and then put the new on and tighten the screw and you are ready to go.
