Computer recordings or engine use..
First off, I apologize for my ignorance of modern technology..
I've spent about the last 10 years restoring/hot rodding vintage Volkswagens, So I'm completely new to the modern car scene..
What I'm wondering is how much do the computer systems in newer cars record?
Specifically, in San Diego (Where I live), there is an event called "Race Legal" (www.racelegal.com) where you can go and drag on a 1/8 mile strip. Will my '09 Challenger's computer record that I hit some high RPM's in a short duration of time and when I bring it in for service will Dodge look and put two and two together and claim, "you must have been racing and therefore "driving irresponsibly" so now your warranty is void?
I wouldn't be pushing it hard enough to break anything, but I'd hate to have a night of legal fun screw up a warranty on the first brand new car I've ever owned, ya know?
