Default New guy with 2 Barn Finds

I'm new here and a mustang guy but today I came across 2 Challengers. One is a 1970 Challenger with original orange paint, black interior and a black alligator top. Car needs work and motor has been swapped and also the rear end at one time has been replaced. The other is a 71 383 RT in black with the side stripe deleted. Its an auotmatic with air and the car is orginal minus the hood, the car has 92K and has never been painted or been apart. The cars come with 8 4 speed transmissions, 2 of them are Hemis. There is also one brand new 440 with Indy heads, extra rods, fenders, doors, steering boxes, 3 sets of 906 heads, 3 grills, one 4 speed console, new wheels and a whole bunch of Mopar parts in orginal wrappers...I have pics as well......What the heck is this allworth and should I save it? I plan on reselling it as Im still hunting for a mustang but I have the guy ready to sell and if I dont buy it it will stay in his barn.

ONE BILLION DOLLARS!!!!!

i have been searching for old Mopars since i sold my 09 about 3 weeks ago
from what i have found the 70 is considered a parts car as it currently sits
i have seen them in the $1500 to $2500 range dependiing on whats good
and whats bad on it.
the 71 if an original RT ( this can be determined from the vin and possibly data tag) again
depends on condition as your photos dont really help at all could be worth anywhere from
$5500 to probably $12000 if its running and driving. of course a lot depends on if its
a real RT and how solid of a foundation the car has.frame rails, torque boxes,
floor pans,ETC, ETC

the parts are well, just that, PARTS....and the photo doesnt show anything
that really stands out, a lot depends what condition they are in,
the 4 speeds? if they are cores if they are good usable transmissions what the serial
numbers are.

the new 440 is it actually a brand new short block or rebuilt? how long has it been together?
was it ever run at all? if you told me you had a brand new 440 i wouldnt buy
it if i couldnt hear it run unless it was sealed in the factory crate it came in.

there are a lot of variables and if the current owner has watched any barret jackson auctions
recently probably wants in the neighborhood of $250,000.00 for the whole lot, LOLOLOLOL

Well he was asking $25,000 for it all and that also included a 4 speed set up-pedals, linkages and etc and I have been told that can bring some $$. I opted to go after the 71 RT without the parts and he is thinking it over. The RT and yes it is a RT as I spoke with Govier and it well optioned with the side stripe delete, tach, triple black and A/C. There is no rust at all anywhere on the body and there is not one pin hole on the underneath. Its as solid as they come for being in a survivor state.

triple black? did it have a black vinyl top? if not then it is just black on black.

you spoke to Galen, what did that cost you? i know he charges for phone calls
but if he says it is a real RT then you have to go with it because he is for the most
part the authority on Mopars in general, also if the car is as nice as you say then it
would be a 15-20K car and the 25K he was asking probably was a good deal.

LOLOLOL thats Galen, he seems to be a nice guy ( seen him at Mopars at englishtown multiple times) but man
$50 for a short phone call..........must be nice to have all of that original chrysler paperwork and be able to sell
the information garnered from it...

in any case definitely if rust free then 25K for the whole shebang is a deal and a half as the car is 15-20k alone
and its probaby closer to 20K from your description, personally if you have the cash i would go back and buy the whole lot for his asking price from him just to get the car, then pull what you need from the parts selection and hit the mopar nationals there in columbus with the other car and the rest of the parts.
should be able to get 5K+ back .

good luck with what ever you and HE decides
