Carbon Fiber Hood

I just got a look a new Carbon Fiber Hood and Rear spoiler
that is being made by Scott Drake. These are 100% Carbon Fiber.
Not a look a like material. They have them in Matte and Glossy Finish.
The Matte I think looks the best. Has anyone else seen these??
Thanks
john

I like the matte, but I'm an old school kind of guy.

Yeh, I am leaning toward the matte too...(old school also).
Thanks

Any estimate on the weight reduction?

Don't know for sure, but I imagine the weight difference will be very minimal.

Haven't heard from you in awhile. Hope things are going well for you, have you gotten to that magic number at the track?

I called the folks at Scott Drake. They said the All Carbon Fiber hood
weighs 26 lbs compared to 27 for the stock hood. The Carbon Fiber
on top of Fiberglass actually weighs 28 lbs! I would do it for the
looks anyway.....take care

unless i'm reading what you wrote wrong. if all you're saving is a pound compared to stock. it would be easier/cheaper to paint the stock hood flat black...

The CF "look" only became desirable because it's supposed to scream "light-weight". If it's the same weight, more or less, why wouldn't you put the money toward something that actually makes a real difference in performance. Or, as HEMI04 just said, paint your hood flat black or cover it with CF-look vinyl or something. Of course, "to each, his own", but I have to admit that I'm really at a loss on this particular purely-cosmetic trend...

The Hood looks cool. No doubt about that. But I would just paint it matte. It would be cool to get a matte T/A hood and get some T/A stripes from RiderGraphix or something. Maybe side pipes too. That would be pretty sweet. But then again this is 16 year old kid that just dreams of even driving a Challenger. I bet someone did it though.
