Default gas tank filler tube??

I finally refilled the SE yesterday (full tank from dealer) and I noticed the filler tube seems to be loose..There is a black plastic collar around the tube, but it seems like it is not attached to the body? Is this normal? Thanks...I will be posting pics of the car soon ...

No one has checked this yet... just open your cap and see if yoy can move the filler tube around... I want to see if this is the way it is suppose to be because I never have seen this before ... All tubes are usually solidly connnected to the body or frame... It just seems strange Thanks

Filler tube has movement of about 1/4" in all directions. If it were mounted solid I would guess there would be some chance that something would crack and break from stress due to fatigue from prolonged vibration, expansion and contraction.

If yours has more movement than this than I would say you might mention it to your dealer.
