I like them all!!! One for each work day of the week. And my 71 for Sat. and my GTX for Sun. I do like that Vanishing Point white. If they do the remake using a 2008 Challenger, then I will finally have to cry like a school girl at the end of a movie.:( These days they don't mind destroying a $50,000 car to make the movie more real.

I definetly like the white best but think they all look great.

My mom would go for the yellow.

Definitely white -- and without the hood stripes. Might as well dazzle people totally.

It's amazing, though, what a difference a few details can make in what colors look good on a car. Such as: I think '72-'74 Challengers look good in yellow, but I do NOT like a '70 in yellow. Not sure exactly what makes the difference, it's almost the same car. I'll withhold judgment until I see the production model in whatever colors they put on them.

Plum Crazy Purple with the dark gray hood stripes is definitely my 1st choice, but I also really like the white with the same dark gray hood stripes (#2 choice). Being a Ford guy (I know, sorry!), it kinda reminds me of the 2007 Shelby GT which can only be found as a coupe in either white or black and they both only come with silver stripes. Straight black and no stripes on the Challenger is my 3rd choice. I was on the Sublime Green bandwagon for a while, but decided that may be a bit too much for my tastes. I wonder if it will be similar to the Snakeskin Green which can now be found on the new Viper. Great arrticle by the way on the new Viper in the October (maybe September) 2007 Road & Track...which of course features it in Snakeskin Green on the cover. SUH-WEEEEEET!

RE: my take on classic colors II

Yeah that new green on the viper does look great.

Out of those colors on the Challenger above. from 1 to 5, 1 being my favorite

1. White
2. Yellow
3 Green
4 Red
5 Plum

RE: my take on classic colors II

Those are some nice colors too! I like the HEMI Orange as featured on the concept, but my fear is that every other Challenger out there will be in orange. Ya gotta stand out a little bit, right?

Yes you do.

Something about Mopar orange just seems right. If not that, Black. That Charger in Blade was sick.

Is "sick" a good thing??? [sm=smiley24.gif] Maybe I'm just not up on the latest lingo...

"sick" - slang for "this is great" or "of high quality

I am starting to love the lime green, yellow, and purple colorways the more I see them. Of course, I would have to see one in person, But then again I am sure this car would look good in primer gray.

I had always thought a metallic black would look cool and then I saw an SRT Charger with it yesterday. The black is black but in the sun it actually sparkes.

I will certainly consider that color.

It's Called "Brilliant Black" it's actualy a pearlized black undercoat w/ rainbow metallic flake just under the clear. i saw a Ram 1500 with it over the summer and fell in love with it in 2 seconds flat

if DMX offer tha color on a Chally in 09 i'm gonna be "happier than a tornado in a trialer park" (those around younger kids will reconize that form Cars"

For months as I thought about the Challenger color I would pick, I just thought it would be cool to have a metallic black but just wasn't sure what it would look like,
then I saw that Charger and fell in love with it.

I really has some POP to it and I had to do a double take as I walked away. Very nice!:)

Being a conservative mid-40's fart, I don't like the colors. Prefer the Dark Candy Apple Red of the current Mustangs, the Dark Fiji (blue) pearl of Hondas, and the GM copper/orange metallics. Those would be my three choices.

If they don't have the purple them i like the orange they show on the str-4 callibers. I like the look of that orange with black acsents/trim.

If they don't come out with a "Catch me Copper" color, they can kiss my tail pipe. The retro colors rock, but a few classy colors wouldn't hurt. I pray they have a different bronze color than that ?Orange Sunburst" they stuck on a few Avengers, eucch.

I am really liking the blue.... is it just me, or does the 68 camaro look like the 2009 challenger?

Well a long hood and short trunk is common on those cars if that is what you mean or how about they are both blue.

Okay you need your meds like Paladin06 said. :D

RE: my take on classic colors II

Nope, still Go-Man-Go Hopefully renamed to Catch-Me-Copper, is still a smart color for this car. But the Yellow and the sublime would be too, if I can not get my primary choice.

I spoke with my cousin (Regional General Manager) the other day about colors, he told me not to worry, there would be a decent palette. Of course I have no way of verifying this. My cousin would not go into any detail. I did get out of him that the SRT8 color options are limited (duh!) and for more than the cost of paint reasons as bantered about here. <speculation> I was left to infer it had something to do with CAFE laws - the more the larger engines sold all the more fuel efficient ones would have to be. If I were a person given to conspiracy theories I would say Chrysler is afraid more of the larger engine Challengers would be sold making it almost impossible to sell enough fuel efficient cars to meet the CAFE requirements for the company. </speculation>

Still, if I am forking over almost 45K, I want the color I want, so it is to the back of the queue for me (again). First waiting on a manual tranny, now on the color.... (I suppose I could always get an R/T, ... naw.) 8^)

I think the new challenger has more lines in common with the 68 camaro than with an original challenger. That's not a complaint.

73Cuda340 04-24-2008 02:17 PM

RE: my take on classic colors II

Whaaa Hoo!!!! Chrysler is listening. They just added several more colors to the palette for the 2009 Challengers. They have added another red, a white, titanium grey, and a dark blue. Yeah, Baby! We call this progress.?.

So my daughter says to me, Dad, these colors look like the pavement, the cement of the bridges and the over all drabby colors you see along the road side, to say nothing about looking like all the other cars (sic color). So, how do you tell a sweet, innocent young eleven year old, "Golly, gee, willikers, I think those new colors look swell dear."[sm=bustedsign.gif]

So when do two positives make a negative? "Ya, right."

I personally favor the Black, the White, and the Blue. the red just a bit but not so much.

But Catch-Me-Copper........thats prolly my fav retro color......unless you consider black retro...

RE: my take on classic colors II

I'm really liking the Titanium gray, but looks like it will not be offered on SRTs?? Which irritates me...why not.

I too like the "catch me Copper" especially on the 70 road runners. Would be cool addition.

RE: my take on classic colors II

My 73 Camaro was a Copper color. I got a lot of thumbs up with that. I would probably consider that, but definatly the Titanium. Just to be slightly different.:)
