Default When to use the "Clay Bar".?

I am wanting to get an Inferno Red SE

Do I have the dealer detail the car, then use the Clay Bar on it.?

Or wash it myself, then the Clay Bar.?

Or is it better to do the Clay Bar before washing the rail dust off, or.................

I don't want the Inferno Red to just turn dull looking like a lot of them do..

Good question. IMO i will hard spray the car off when i get it home and that evening will clay it using a soapy solution. Dealer has intruction to not detail! On black cars they are the worst offenders of creating the swirls before you drive off the lot.

I agree, wash it yourself until you can feel the surface as smooth with little dirt as possible, then use the clay bar.
