I just finished watching an episode of Overhaulin' (a 2004 episode according to the show info, season 2 episode 7) where they updated a Sublime '71 Challenger R/T and was wondering if anyone else has seen it?

It didn't look too bad to begin with, I definately would have taken it without a second thought if offered. What they did to fix it up though... whew. It may have ended up the most gorgeous Challenger I've ever seen: custom rims, low profile tires, custom gauges, custom seats, custom stereo, new hemi, stainless steel exhaust, basically everything you could imagine doing to this car.

The paint job was awesome too. Gloss black up to a more neon shade of green than the original sublime overlayed with metallic silver strobe stripes with Sublime pinstriping. When they brought out the finished product I was practically drooling. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this episode and shared my feelings on it.

 

I'm hesitant to answer. I'm old school and I really don't like Chip Foose design cars. But he is an artist and I can see where folks like his style. Really liked it original... but thats just me and I'm sure I'm in the minority. But I'm glad to see Mopars are cool to the Gen. Xers.

 

I'm with you, i dont like too many of his wheel designs either.

i seen that episode back when it first aired and thought to myself man they just ruined that guys challenger.

 

I have to agree with you two, as I am also old school and like the looks of the original much better. However having said that, I am glad people have different tastes as it would be very boring if everyone's car looked alike. Bottomline; it's his car and he can do whatever he wants...even if it doesn't look as nice......(Just makes my car look that much better)

Seems to of lost its luster. I have had my cars for over 35 years and I have never considered selling any of them. I would sell only to help a family member. A loved one is better than any car. But to know its been in your family for so long and now it will be gone. I hope my sons hang on to the cars I give them and hand them down to their sons or daughters. But once it went Chip Foose... it was alot easier to get rid of. I'm just old school that way.
