Dodge Challenger R/T to be priced at $30,000?
In the official rules list for its Dr. Z sweepstakes, DaimlerChrysler lists the 'Approximate Retail Value' of the 2008 Dodge Challenger R/T at $30,000. The R/T model has long been described as having a 425 horsepower 6.1 liter Hemi. Rumors have suggested the Challenger will be offered with a choice of two V8 engines and a manual transmission only. Planned production is believed to be in the ballpark of 30,000 units annually. Recent rumors have also indicated a 6.6-liter Hemi was in the works for a range-topping SRT Challenger. Chrysler has said the production Challenger will be identical to the concept.

I couldn't enter the contest after a week of trying get the entry code from a 5 star dealership. They just found out about the contest very recently.
I visited them once and called and emailed them twice.

In other news, a Chrysler dealership in Texas loses its 5 star status due to being unaware of an old contest. It was decided that if they didn't know about the contest, then they couldn't possibly be offering the 5 star quality in service.

I don't think we will see a lot of car in 2008 if they are only going to produce 30K in the first year.
Plus these will only be V-8 engines, so fewer by the younger crowd will be had.

True but I won't be surprised if the 6.1L model is produced immediately, since it is in the concept. They first showed the 5.7L versions of the 300C, Magnum, and Charger before any of the other models.
