Not exactly street legal

As if the Dodge Challenger SRT8 wasn't enough of a trouble maker for lead-footed drivers, Chrysler LLC will next weekend unveil a drag race package for the Challenger.

The reveal will come Saturday at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo.

No specs were released, but the speed machine will come "track ready" including weight reducing modifications and a choice of three engines.

Chrysler says it's the first factory-built drag racer in 40 years.

 

What are the three engines?

What exactly are these drag racers for, anyway?
Are they just for racing for fun, or can you race them professionally for money?

 

A 5.9 will be one of these engines.

All of these drag package cars have been pre-sold to NHRA drag racing teams for Stock-eliminator class.
