Hot Rod Magazine - August 2008

I don't think this was posted yet, nor do I have a link. My mom works at a car restoration business and said this magazine has an article on a modified Challenger. I will have to find a copy.

Hey fellas just came back from Wally-World... Hot Rod mags are on shelves... they put k&n cold air, diablo tuner, and borla cat-back... Car ran 13.07 quarter mile... they got like 26 rwhp added and like 25 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels... not too bad... More proof the 5.7 might be the more tuneable though.... we'll see I guess in a few more months.... They comented on the 5.7 in the article too mentioning how they got a lot out of the cold-air with it a K&n also.
There was some really cool stuff on paint jobs though that I think everyone should check out.

wait they put those mods on a srt8 or rt? r/t with that is pretty good but alot of srt8s with those mods are getting into the mid to low 12s with those mods. i have to go research later.

they did the mods to an SRT... yeah i thought they would get below 13 too. They ran an 1/8th of a mile and mulitplied it.... So that isn't the most accurate way to do it. I think if they would of ran the whole quarter mile it would of been closer to maybe 12.7 or 12.8 the Challneger is a beast but once it gets going it keeps on going... So in all fairness I think they would of definatly gotten somewhere in the 12.8's if they didn't just run an 1/8th mile and times it by 2.
The paint thing was just a general insight article.... but they talked a lot about the candy colors now and how they've evolved and become a lot more finer.... Shoot i'd like to see a candy Sublime... that would be soo cool
