How much was paid for one 2008 Challenger?

...how much do Challengers really cost? Here’s a hint (well, a dealer invoice). Dealer markup seems pretty reasonable. Oh, and by the way — next year, more than 460 horsepower might be showing up!

FWP= "Factory Wholesale Price."
HB= 1239.00 (Holdback, 3% of MSRP (before Destination) back to dealer)
FFP= 39,627.00 (Family & Friends Program, 1% below invoice)
EP= 38,237.00 (Employee Price, about 5% below invoice)
Thus, the dealer actually pays considerably less than the $40,027 “wholesale price.” Dealers usually pay less than the wholesale price minus the holdback (in this case, $40,027 - $1,239 = $38,788), with both an advertising reimbursement and supplemental floorplan reimbursement.
The interior is, we’re now told, very different from the concept. The radio area is completely different; the console top is the same color but has a different shape, including an iPod valley in front. Gauges are different, and now include large chrome rings around each pod (a late change). Dodge has announced pricing for the 2008 Challenger SRT8 at $37,995, with dealers taking orders starting December 3. The SRT8 will each have a numbered dash plaque and 6.1 liter V8; only three colors, black, silver, and orange, are available. Pricing for the other models, which are certain to be less expensive, will be announced later.

as for the different dash, I am sure that some of things we will see are coming from existing chrysler parts bins, like radio and any nav systems, environment controls, etc, but overall, I am betting I will still be happy

that 460 hp number is interesting... i believe that chevy is going to start the hp wars.. and dodge is going to fight back.. it would not surprise me to see a 500 hp plus challenger by the time this is over[sm=gears.gif]

That black carbon fiber stripe does nothing for a Plum Crazy Challenger.

Better to do without if a white stripe is not offered, like on the 1970-71 models.

Actually i'd kinda like to see them bring back the billboard decals again. I never was into the hockey stick striping really........Just my two cents,thats all..............although even if D/C doesnt im sure some aftermarket outfit will take care of that.

The price isn't so bad for what you are getting. More affordable models will turn up before too long.

Some trivia about the billboard decal that was on the side of the 1971 'Cuda.

The designer was frustrated that several of his decal designs were rejected by upper management as being too bland. So, as a joke, he designed the most outrageous one that he could dream up. And guess what, management loved it...and the rest is history.
