My 2008 Challenger idea
I thought this up and it keeps playing in my head. Good for a high-impact 30 second TV spot.
I need someone to forward this idea to the proper recipients at Chrysler as I cannot find a link to utilize. Please give me some feedback and tell me what you think. Thank you (my first post here BTW)............. (START) (Referencing the original VANISHING POINT MOVIE) The commercial starts with overhead helicopter footage (maybe from the original movie?) of a white '70 Challenger streaking across the desert (with great engine audio). Next (digitally?) a transformation takes place, like in Back to the Future.......you see all the flashes and lightening but don't actually see the car. A flash shot of the highway - 2 tire tracks on fire into the distance. You hear (but do not see) the car screech to a halt sideways in the road. The next shot is a car .....covered in dry ice.....popping, sizzling, crackling and smoking....... This is shown for several seconds with no other action (for effect). Then, finally, with a mighty crack, the driver's door opens and all of the ice falls to the ground revealing a white 2008 Challenger. The present-day Barry Newman steps out, looks into the camera, and says: "You thought you couldn't go back, but you can".............. (FINISH) |
RE: My 2008 Challenger idea
I think thats a great idea for a commercial.(in fact my '74 is triple white & I've watched the movie at least 10 times)
Just need to add a few details ie: the Colorado license plate "QA 5599" & maybe a modern-day chase scene ... black + white cop car chasing the Chally down a dusty road. RE: My 2008 Challenger idea
Great minds think alike.
Ford did a similar lightning and morphing 1957 to 2002 Thunderbird for a dealer promotion At Woodward Dream Cruise an ongoing loop video was playing at the Chrysler display for Challenger, the theme was from 1970 to 2008 in 7.8 seconds, very similar visual images. I've been trying to get included on the list of 1970 Challenger owners willing to lend my car or attend Challenger events...never a reply. Steve |
RE: My 2008 Challenger idea
I thought it was 1970 to 2008 in 4.5 seconds?
