Popular Mechanics Prototype Review
Here is an early review of a pre-production SRT Challenger:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...s/4248065.html
Excerpt:
"Even the ear buds we were wearing under our helmet to maintain radio contact with the pits couldn't muffle the baritone exhaust note from the big, 6.1-liter Hemi whenever we put our boot on the pedal. You should understand that we were toeing the accelerator extremely delicately, picking our way around a slippery, 3.1-mile track at a rain-sodden private track here. On the few occasions we could let the new coupe extend itself, the 425-hp Hemi gave voice in a way that brought a smile to everyone in range."

RE: Popular Mechanics Prototype Review
I did a lot of checking and emailing and phone calling to Popular Mechanics. The April 2008 issue carried an article about Challenger. I would have to go back to be sure, but I think the print article 4/08 is different from this one, and two others on the Popular Mechanics web page. The three linked together on the web page are dated 2/08 and center around the Chicago auto show. The eventual reply from Popular Mechanics editorial service is that only 4/08 carried a print article, the others are online versions only.
