Waxing Stripes
Can the stripes on the cars be waxed or do you have to tape them off when waxing your car.
|
I think you can wax them, I would go light in the wax or rather pick a spot and then pull the wax (thinning it) in swirls as you get closer to the stripes (if you know what I mean) and you should be good, and use a good terry / microfibre cloth along teh striping seams to ensure the wax is gone.

I checked with Meguiars and you can wax the stripes. I, however, just use detail spray on them.

Thanks guys. I talked to the Meguiars guys years ago at the LA auto show and they were very helpful. How is Barry anyway ? LOL, "Car Crazy" ? I am getting closer to buy a challenger, do I look pretty in Pink ? Maybe I should stick with red or DT.

What about the White Stripes ?
 does this apply to the white stripes on the R/T classics as well. I am worried that the white one's will get dirty real fast from the outside elements. any one have info or experience with these ?

^ shouldn't have an issue, todays vinyl graohics have coatings that far supercede the abuse thrown at them other than chips or tears.
but I do agree, I use McGuires Final Detail spray and it works great on graphics. |
I've had cars with stripes since the 70's and always have waxed them with the car. Not a single stripe ever fell off because of it. I wax over the ones on this Challenger also. Wax on and wax off! Just have fun and enjoy your Challenger to it's fullest. :D
