180 degree tstat or stock

can you damage the engine if you leave the stock tstat in after you tune it with the predator.

RE: 180 degree tstat or stock

You wont hurt the car using the stock stat with the tune, but you will see even more gains if changed.

And change the fan settings to,

HHP's Recommendation/Tips: Combine the Diablosport Predator with the Jet 180 Thermostat. Using the fan control settings on the diablo in conjunction with the lowered thermostat will allow you to keep your Challenger running cooler and keeping it from going into Heat Soak mode due to idling or city driving. This will keep you from losing power and throttle response. Recommended settings to use:
All HS Fans (High Speed) AC On & AC Off: 194 degrees
All LS Fans (Low Speed) AC On & AC Off: 189 degrees
All MS Fans (Medium Speed) AC On & AC Off: 192 degrees

I have read your post before on this issue and I have a question. I also wanted to install a 180 tstat. If I got a Diablo tuner to change the fan settings is that all? Would there be warrenty issues? Is it self explanatory to operate the tuner, not being a mechanic? Are there other setting changes you recommend? Would they have to be changed if I took the car in for service to the dealer? Your relpy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is self explanatory to operate the tuner. If the tuner doesnt have the current software is the only thing that might cause you problems. Make sure you get the pc connection cable for it and power supply. Some dealers offer it free some do not. I bought my cables at best buy and i believe the power supply is a 12 volt which i already had. You update the predator by connecting it to the pc. I have windows XP and it was a easy. I have read that certain vista users were having problems but I do remember reading in the forums that they got the drivers for it. You can get the current software and the software at diablo sports. Very self explanitory for updating the predator. My predator needed to be updated, and well I learned as I went. It took me about an hour to update the predator and tune the car. Also, read the instructions b4 installing the predator. The predator comes with 4 pretuned settings 2 with cai (cold air intake) and 2 without based on the octane that you use. U click on the one that you want to use. Click enter and it does it for you. VERY EASY. If you go to the dealer. You simply plug in the cable put in the origianal tune that is saved on the predator, and the predator simply swaps out the mod tune back to the stock tune. I would recommend that you SAVE your stock tune on the computer as well. Everyone has stated in the forums that it will not hurt you warranty. I am running on my Challenger the pretuned 93 octane with CAI and WOW IT MADE A DIFFERENCE. The car is more responsive no dead stops on acceleration. If feels way better. I don't know about the jet T stat cause i just ordered mine and it should get here within the next couple of days. I hope this has helped.
