RE: List of Mopar Crate Engines

Well initially i won't touch it....i'll be in love with it too much for the first summer to let it sit in the shop....but i'd probably concider playin with the motor during the winter....

i don't wanna spend 40k and not have it beaten by a mustang or vette (which i understand are a lot more expensive, and i prolly couldn't get the output high enough to beat a vette, just still....its more fun playin with the motor, than putting chips and programmers and superchargers and stuff in the car....i'm just thinkin out loud :)

don't berate me for wanting more than i'm getting

RE: List of Mopar Crate Engines

Crate motors are a way to increase the power out put, but a better way for those who want to keep the waranty good is... to use Mopar Performance enhancements. These are parts you can add and they are CARB legal and will not void your waranty. You can also use approved after market Performance Catalogs to get the parts you need. Headers, mufflers, cams and springs. Or for those who dare NOS and forced induction. You choose and you can go mild or wild. How quick do you want to go? Gears... they got them. But the crates are a good way to go, but keep it as close to bolt in as possible. 6.1 and 6.4 for late models. 426 and bigger for the old muscle machines. But my guess is that someone who longs for old school will want to be the first to put a 426 type of big block into the new Challenger. Just wait and see.;)
