Magna FLow

Has anyone gone with Magna Flow on their Challenger? If so, what's the difference between the two systems they offer (magnapack and magnapack with mufflers)?

Just got the Magnaflow 16514 system installed on my '09 R/T. Sounds grrrrreat! Quiet idle but deep and throaty with acceleration. Got the system on planetmagnaflow.com , one of the authorized dealers of Magnaflow. They have a "name your price" option. The system is orig. $1,300.00, they had on sale for 1K. I offered $800.00 and got it, no tax and free shipping. Had it installed at one of the authorized installers in Md. (Mid-Atlantic Muffler & Brakes) on York Rd. I took the owner an hour to complete and only charged $100.00 flat. So a great deal all around. Waiting for a Diablo Tuner in the mail and I'll really unleash the Beast within.

I had Magnaflow Part# 16880 installed on my 09 Challenger SRT8, Automatic, back in Nov 08. About 3 weeks after I took delivery. I am definitely satisfied with the result. You get the deep growl even at low rpm that signals big motor, without having to jump on the pedal.

Thanks for the idea of planetmagnaflow.com. I just put an offer down on Dual-exit Stainless Steel Cat-back System for the 2009 Challenger RT 5.7L V8 HEMI featuring 2.50” tubing, Tru-X pipe, and 3.5” double-wall angle cut polished quad tips. Competition Series (Aggressive Tone). we will see what they said, i offered 7. why is the challenger exhaust so pricy compared to others? i am guessing just because it is a new ride.

Magnaflow question

Has anyone bought a Magnaflow Exhaust #16891 for the 5.7 liter Hemi? I am planning on getting one, but looking for feedback.

magnaflow

The difference between the two exhaust systems are that magnaflows magnapack system is going to have the sound level around 100dbs approx. where as the street series system is going to be under 95 dbs. this woould be on a completly stock vehicle. Add ons such as intakes or header systems will alter the sound level. please let me know if you have any further questions about these systems.

What can you tell me about 16515? it sounds pretty good online, but never heard/seen it in person. thanks

Can anyone give me the part number/ model number for a Magnaflow that provides the best sound? I want some what of a growl. Thanks.

barry1309 05-09-2009 10:53 AM

Part 16514. I have this and it's great. I thought the Magnapack model that has the Aggressive sound would be too much. 16514 is perfect. I combined it with a Mopar CAI, Diablo Tuner, and with the Magnaflow system you will have over 400hp in the R/T. Also, I had original reproduction exhaust (1970) tips welded on and the rear looks mighty retro! Good Luck.

Thanks, I just made an offer on the 16515. Hopefully they accept. I recently added the Mopar CAI and once I get the exhaust I am going to get the tuner and go from there. How easy is the tuner to use?0

jhall552000 05-09-2009 11:56 AM

Do you know any where I can get a decent deal on the diablo sport tuner?

barry1309 05-10-2009 04:44 AM

I just bought it from the Diablo company, just in case there were any problems. It is easy to use once you get familiar with it. They have good tech support. Download full manual from their site, that will introduce you to its use. Be sure to get the power cord and the interface cable for your pc, you will need both to download from their site if necessary.

Is that an RT or an SRT in that video? I am thinking about getting the zoomers on my RT but no idea how to put them on myself so if anyone knows a good place in southern CT to get the work done let me know. I also dont see the square tips in the photos for the RT exhaust on the zoomers site, I really want to keep that square tip look.

Just the other day someone with Zoomers on their Challenger was advising people to avoid them . I believe it's under the SRT8 section, if not, do a search. Don't know what it's about, just trying to give you a heads up.
