thanks im aware of the advertised #'s... but I remember reading a post that Andre put up about the zoomers on the R/T. He seemed to mention that the dyno #'s for the R/T were a little more than expected compared to the advertised #'s.
Maybe there is more pony in the R/T than advertised. Just wondering if anyone has concrete #'s they could share. Thanks again...

Good question. We want the rwhp and rwtq, these are real time numbers. The engine HP numbers are meaning less. I'm concerned for the SRT8 and the RT because both are so heavy, the HP to weight ratio's are lacking. Don't flame guys, because I have a RT 6-speed on order....My KB Mach one has 605rwhp and weights 3550lbs with 1/2 tank of gas and my lard butkus in it. Do the math on the power to weight ratio and compare it to the SRT8 along with it's weight and you will see why they are at a disadvantage... Nuff said about that, I love the look of the Challenger and I can't wait for mine to hit the dealership, suppose to be the first of the year. Wooohoooo....

RE: What are the Baseline Dyno #'s For The R/T and SRT

Im very interested, because I have a feeling that Dodge under-rated the numbers( like there infamous for) But I think it's to get the 6.1 litre's to move quicker.
09' Hemi Ram's are pumping 390hp stock... hmmm... just seems like such a grey area... and on top of that when... if... I get my R/T... it's got to be some simple tweek to get that 20hp... You know??? Just my thoughts...
The factory just adjusts it to basically "Dumb down" the engine... they have the product already competing with the Tundra for HP wars with the 390 I mentioned... So I want to know why I can't have that in my R/T??? Or what exactly was done to essecnially make the engine "less" powerfull... because to me it's sooo sooo obvious Dodge did this on purpose... Any thoughts???

You sure did'nt have those #s before mods:D. So know that X amount of cash thrown at the Challenger produces Y at the rear wheels. Enjoy your new Challenger and when I'm finished modding mine I'll give you some power to weight ratios:D No replacement for... cash and lots of it, being thrown at a car. It has no choice but to increase in HP.;)

So dpas... what do you mean when you say tuned..??

What method was used to measure HP/Torque..??

Measured at reaer wheels or crank..??

Sounds pretty impressive... thanks for sharing...

Kris that man is indeed a liar.

RE: What are the Baseline Dyno #'s For The R/T and SRT

but what if Dodge is hiding something?? What if the horsepower at the crank is the same as the Hemi Ram for '09???
It's possible they could just be makeing up smaller numbers to help the sales of the 6.1...
I guess it's conspiricay theory stuff but... Dodge has under-rated hp many times before...

i had my car dyno and tuned i have a magnaflow exhuast/cai/throttle body spacer and im getting 480hp at the flywheel and 383hp at the rearwheel/and 460tq at the flywheel and 362tq at the rearwheel.

RE: What are the Baseline Dyno #'s For The R/T and SRT

if you ask me it was a waste of alot of money for 20hp lol the dyno and tune cost me 1,400 the exhaust was another 1,000 the cai was 375 throttle body spacer was 120 so 3k for 20hp?

RE: What are the Baseline Dyno #'s For The R/T and SRT

I need to learn something new here.....

How did you get flywheel numbers from a Chassis dyno? Perhaps the tuner was guessing.....

Lastly, I see 21 percent parasitic loss on your reported numbers. That is a bit much on the stock converter pushing less then 500 HP.

By my calculation I only see 425.17 HP at the crank, assuming a 17% loss.

My KB Mach one has 605rwhp and weights 3550lbs with 1/2 tank of gas and my lard butkus in it. That is what I was posting about:D Just a little late on the draw. That will happen when you get to be over 50.;)

I had mine on the dyno back in Nov 2008. It was an unusually warm day, something like 80 degrees that day. I did two dyno pulls 1st was 363.25HP/356.88TQ 2nd pull was 364.17HP/354.20TQ. 60 HP is more of a HP/TQ loss than I expected, but it's a bone stock engine with automatic trans.
I can't seem to get the dyno pic loaded. It's on my car domain page though. I will try to re-size the dyno pic so I can load it here.

RE: What are the Baseline Dyno #'s For The R/T and SRT

A fair OEM drive line will rob about 15% from the crank HP/TQ. I've seen some that go as high as 20%. 400HP minus 15% is 60HP. Sometimes. if you're lucky, manual shift trannies are a bit more efficient. Anyone dyno'd a 6 speed, yet?

I will dyno mine after break in, but that will not likely be until June or July. Ohio...sheesh![:@]
