5.7 hemi install
I have a 1970 challenger I am restoring. I also have a 2003 dodge 5.7 hemi and transmission I would like to install in this car. Can anyone help me with some advise on purforming this install? I would appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks Dodge boy

RE: 5.7 hemi install
You already have the engine and transmission I take it. Obviously the Engine from the Ram, is the transmission as well and is it an automatic or manual?

RE: 5.7 hemi install
I am useing the computer system. I have a complete engine and trans plus the complete wiring and sensors. The trans is auto. When I bought the engine it had 16,000 miles. I would like know if there is special motor mounts and also headers. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank dodge boy

RE: 5.7 hemi install
i am not sure on the motor mount location on the new hemi...do you have it on a stand? perhaps you could compare the mounting location?
also, with the headers, i doubt that anyone makes headers for the conversion into a muscle car already...ive seen muscle cars with the new hemi in it, but ive not paid attention to the header routing...they were most likely custom.

Would the 545RFE even fit in the classic Challenger? It is a 5-speed (actually if you count the extra 2nd gear then it would be a 6-speed), when the original transmission was only a 3-speed, plus this one is "Fully Electronic" while the original wasn't.

This engine is complete and the trans is still attached. We have a number of things figured out and few things we need to find out. Does anyone know of a web site that sells coutom parts? Thanks Dodge Boy
