small block intake choices

i need your opinion on the intake manifolds i should consider for my 72 challenger. i have a 318 bored .040 over with pistons set to zero deck clearance. the heads have been milled .040 and are 2.02 valve 340 heads. i am running a purple shaft cam .484 lift .284 duration. currently i have an edelbrock performer on the engine with a 600cfm holley. what intake should i switch to and should i consider a bigger carb?

Sounds like a pretty good setup so far. As far as the intake, I would recommend an airgap dual plane intake, depending on how much you want to spend, edelbrock makes some nice ones, or if you aren't worried about the "name brand," I put a Summit air gap on my '73 318 with a Holley 650 4150 series, and it's doing great. The setup is geared more towards low-midrange torque, so that's something else you have to consider when doing the upgrades.

I second the air gap as Rob has stated. It is good for the combo you have listed. It has what it takes down low and gives a strong high RPM delivery. I have seen 7000 RPM with my setup.
