2009 production run start?
 

Did anyone have some contacts that know how close they are to being done with the 2008s at Brampton?

I thought I saw a thread that mentioned the 2009s would be started after a couple week shutdown in late July, is that still true?

I believe the plant is scheduled to close on July 14th, by which time the 2008s should all have left the plant.
After a two week shut down / retooling, the 2009 production begins on July 28 for Chargers, 300s, and Challengers.

Here is the calender they are working this sat only otherwise mon-fri day shift and afternoon shift the cert expired but it is a trusted site

Hey Budman,

Any word as to what model 2009 Challenger will they start building first? Rumors have it that the SE and the RT will be the 1st '09 models built.

They will got on vacation in July and the plant will be full to the end of the prod line with 100% 09 Challengers I dont know what kind. It will take till July 12th to finish the 08 Challengers

Budman, Joani and Bob Frederick know MUCH more than I do, Bud. THEY have inside information / sources. I just keep track of what has been posted on all of the forums and blogs.
What Ive seen/heard/read - to the best of my recollection - is that the initial "emphasis" for the 09 Challenger production will be on R/Ts and SEs since Dodge hopes to sell so many. Really, that makes sense since those models are more affordable (appeal to a larger number of potential buyers) and won't hurt LLCs CAFE requirements. Thats not to say they wont be making any SRTs right away. But the indications are that they'll be a smaller percentage of the line than what theyve been running for the last few months.
Again, this is based on what Ive seen/heard from those who DO have inside information and were kind enough to share that info.

Hey Budman, I've been looking at the Brampton Plant Calender that you posted, is the plant going to be closed on Monday, June 30th. or am I reading this wrong?
