2010 Challenger Rumors?

Ive run a ton of them, so I thought that i would get a thread going, just for speculation over the 2010 model...

so, lets hear them!

lear4406 03-24-2009 12:56 PM

I predict they will make a 2010 Challenger. Other than that and new colors I can't really say.

BLK 6050 03-24-2009 02:15 PM

More concerned about Chrysler and 2010...but having said that, I believe there will be a Challenger in 2010...however, unless they can come up with a good facelift (unlike the 71 to 72 "update") there will not be a 2011 as the model in it's present form will have run it's course. (Perhaps that would be a good time to bring out a "Cuda")
*Just my two cent

RoswellGrey 03-24-2009 02:31 PM

Oh, God, Joe, I hope any "update" they do wouldn't be akin to the '72-to-'74 "sad face" grille! ;)

Thor77 03-24-2009 03:07 PM

To counter the new Camaro's impressive hp, all '10 Challengers get a factory blower!! MSRP goes up only $500 per model.

This is all made up.

lear4406 03-25-2009 04:16 AM

Blowers... we don't need no stinking blowers. Yeah that would do it for sure. 1970 Challenger was by far the best looking of the 70-74 run. Just concentrate on improving the car in minute upgrades. More HP would'nt hurt. Plum crazy and lemon twist yellow to name a few.

JJMPB 03-25-2009 06:11 AM

shave some pounds off the ole girl

Lemon yellow will be available this year according to Dodge. Well, technically "detonator yellow." That and the much-discussed B5 blue are the classic package colors.

I am still asking for Plum Crazy, 6.4L, updated dash, and a manual transmission and a partridge in a pear tree.

That is what I want for 2009 Christmas assuming I still have my job.

roadagent 03-25-2009 01:57 PM

I don't want them to do anything that will make it better cuz I won't be able to afford it and I'll be jealous as hell LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RoswellGrey 03-25-2009 08:45 PM

You know, this thread needs to be retitled 2010 Challenger Speculation instead of 2010 Challenger Rumors. Unless we can START some rumors ... like how everyone who already owns an '08 or '09 gets a FREE 2010 Challenger! ;)

roadagent 03-26-2009 02:42 AM

not sure at least for me if that would be such a good deal,I'm pretty hard on my '08 and I paid A LOT of money for it.If they gave me one for free I'd prolly kill myself in it :-)

1 Bad Mirada 03-26-2009 10:29 AM

im surprised that we arent hearing more about engine improvements...because with the 5.7 jumping up in power, the SRT needs a bigger step unless they are hoping to pump out more RTs.

BLK 6050 03-26-2009 10:42 AM

I'll keep my '08.
As for the SRT/RT.....they should sell more RTs in the long run, if for no other reason than the price difference. (The 6.1 has more than enough power for me, but it would be nice if they would upgrade to the 6.4 later...)

JJMPB 03-27-2009 05:00 AM

the V6 will have an improvement goin to that 3.6 liter 280 hp motor

rickerda 03-27-2009 03:09 PM

Here is what I would like to see in the next generation
1. True hardtop, or at least rear windows that go down.
2. Switch the turn signals and fog lights; get rid of the egg yoke look.
3. LCD taillights
4. Flat hood and shaker hood scoop option
5. More horsepower out of the V6.

starfleet 03-28-2009 06:23 PM

I think we have the best car around now with the 09 Challenger R/T, Just include a little more badges.

I'm expecting them to do that. It was in 08 that they upgraded the 4.7L, this year that they updated the 5.7L, so I'd expect an upgrade in the SRT offering. I'd think that the 6.4L would be produced with MDS and VCT. Why would Dodge continue to offer the SRT-8 with the same output much longer when the competition has caught up and setting a new benchmark. On top of this, with the higher fuel economy standards, this upgrades will help them.

I think sooner or later the V6 offering is going to lose the 42RLE, I just hope they replace it with a worthwhile transmission such as a rwd version of the 62TE and not the W5A580. I was expecting the Phoenix engine to replace it next year but I guess it isn't ready. I hope they DON'T get any crazy ideas and decide to add the underpowered, wannabe 4 banger, sludger (aka 2.7L V6). I hope that is the first V6 to die of the current offerings.

The only thing to remember is Chrysler might be suffering in the performance department since Big Brother Sam is in charge and ManBearPig doesn't like performance as it makes him a greater threat through the use of more fuel, and since we have to bow to figments of people's imagination AGAIN, this isn't going to help us in the performance department.

I would not be surprised (unfortunately) that 2010 is the last year of any performance versions of the Challenger. I predict new colors, stripes, etc. but nothing "exciting" under the hood... Ugh

The 2011 Challenger will get the new 3.6L Phoenix engine, updated 5.7L engine, and the two new 6.4L Hemi's.

400hp 5.7 i bet...

car and driver leaked out pics of the new 300c and said the base v8 would have 400 hp , v6 phoenix, and srt8 would be out of this world aka 6.4

Thor77 04-03-2009 07:08 AM

Good catch on the 300C in C&D. The V-6 is also quoted as "at least 270 horses."

When they say "the wild SRT version will likely go off to purgatory," I think that means it won't be offered in the immediate future. I hope this is just for the 300C, and not for the Challenger SRT.
