6.4 coming in 2011
There is a Chrysler employee who is a member of a few other Mopar forums. His info is ALWAYS right, and he knows it long before anyone else on the forums. He knew the colors of the special edition Chargers, and the changes for the '08 and '09 model year Chargers, months before they were announced to the public. Anytime someone else on a forum argues with him and says they have different information, in the end they are wrong and he is right. So chances are the following information is correct:

RE: 6.4 coming in 2011
If you really want an SRT, I'm not sure I'd wait two years based on this info. I mean no disrespect, but a lot is going to happen in the next two years. You can wait for the retro colors, you can wait for the 6.4, but I'll enjoy the hell out of my car for the next two years and if something cool comes along and Chrysler is still kicking and making Challengers, I'll trade up to what I want.

Personally I dont see the 6.4 ever happening and quite possibly even the 6.1 going away. With the Car industry under fire to produce more fuel efficient cars those engines dont quite fit into the plan. Hybrids, electric, hydrogen etc. may be in the Challenger's future especially after the bailout meetings today.

RE: 6.4 coming in 2011
Makes me so upset. This is supposed to be a free country yet now people seem to think they should choose what cars we should be able to buy. If I can afford to put gasoline in the car then what business is it of theirs what I drive? [&:]

An 8-speed transmission? That's near big-rig territory. Talk about overkill!
I'm still skeptical about the 6.4 also, I don't care what anyone supposedly says. Guess I'll wait till '11 to find out if this guy is actually right, but the way things are going right now, ALOT can happen - by then we may all be driving base-model Calibers. [:'(]

Hey, nobody is faulting you, bro. I'm only pointing out that the 5 year strategic plan everybody did last year (which is really what you're sharing with us) when the economy was flying high isn't worth the paper its printed on today. The one we do this year will be a lot different than last years, so I wouldn't be waiting to buy my car based on that. The plan will change 2 or 3 times 'till 2011 comes along. But it is interesting!
