Default Alright then...

Well, I'm over at DF.com and scrolling around and looking and come across this (post #8):
http://www.dodgeforum.com/m_434600/tm.htm

I just got off the phone with two dealers here in the Fort Worth area and they told me what I assumed, "We aren't even in production yet! How did this guy just pluck down the money?" and, "There isn't even cost associated with the Challenger either!"

So, this is a boring story. But it had my heart jumping for a little bit there.

hmm....when i worked for dodge, they took orders for chargers before there was even information...a dealership will take your money for any reason that you want...if you went and talked to a sales manager, and were INSISTING on being the first to have a certain car, all that ensures is that you get that dealerships first one..but who knows when they will get it...

we had 4 deposits on charger over a year before they were in the showrooms...i had never even seen one in person...but four people signed contracts promosing to pay the MSRP plus a large 5 markup, regardless of what the MSRP was...

Niether did I, I answered at the same time patrick did. In this case, the guy is a moron. To put something down(especially 4 grand) on something when info has not been released when the car will actually be available.

I think you'd have to put more than 4 grand down on a reserved car that cost 40,000. I smell BS!!!
